Experience:
CNN.com has done a good job in all with cleaning up their website and maintaining it with minimal amount of ad’s. They have an excellent video gallery set up for everyone to see any interest they might have either Local, National, and International news. To even having Technical, Health, Sports and Weather information to offer their audience in a video format of clips. They have done well with this site in organizing the information because the site does seem to be 99% links to their topics and 1% interactive activities going on with the sites because I did see one or two poles on their site. Plus, you place comments on their site underneath the picture you might be viewing.
Mood:
The feel or mood I would like to bring to it is one of being ready to move and interact with similar to a iTunes set up with their viewing of their CD cover rolodex viewing of left to right or backwards of right to left in viewing or just clicking on a title to have it bring up a picture that links up with the title to see if you would be more interested in reading the whole article. Plus, each picture above it would have its own title that would also be a link to click on to go directly to the point of interest for the user. Plus, adding subtle moving graphics in the background and rollovers buttons with links to intrigue the user in checking out. The color palettes will very through out the day from morning till night a subtle color scheme happens and place a slight mood change for the moment of the day you see the sight. Also you will have options of choosing themes for the holidays one for Thanksgiving, Christmas and yes even have themes for Jewish holidays as well.
Competition:
The competition for CNN.com is MSNBC.com, FoxNews.com and other major website Browser companies as “Yahoo,” and “AOL.” They are all over CNN.com but do not have the history and prestige that CNN has been able to accomplish over these 27 years of being a 24 hour news station show to then expand itself onto the web.
